Artwork submission

As part of launching the Philosophy Society Journal, we are welcoming art submissions. This includes:

• Visual art, such as paintings, drawings, and photography

• Poetry

• Short fiction (1000 words)

We are looking for artwork and fiction that engages more directly with philosophy. This may include anything inspired by particular philosophers and their work, literature and art that draws on specific philosophical ideas or seeks to challenge them. For example, if you write poetry, you may draw on or challenge Theodor Adorno’s famous quote, “To write poetry after Auschwitz is barbaric.” Or you may find Wittgenstein’s conceptions of lanuage especially profound and may wish to engage with it in your piece. Ultimately, pieces submitted should be thought-provoking, something that leaves readers with new perceptions.

The deadline is the 1st October.

Please email your submissions to journal@oxford-philsoc.org
